It thoroughly introduces the greater part of medical terminology as well as the various structures which constitute the human body. On account of the late admissions and the shorter time now available for teaching anatomy, the coverage of general anatomy seems to suffer maximum. Since it lays down the foundation of the entire subject of medicine it was felt necessary to produce a short simple and comprehensive handbook on this neglected though an important aspect of the subject. It has been written in a simple language with the text classified in small parts to make it easier for the students to follow and remember. This will prove quite useful to the medical students. I'm partial to BD Chaurasia, was not a fan of Cunningham. BDC's explanations are concise and the tables are quite useful. Cunningham is just a wall of indecipherable text. Although I would say that having a copy of Netter's is very useful. I used to study the text from BDC and look at the illustrations in Netter's because all the diagrams in the former are not the best.
I have no idea about Last's anatomy. I assume you're Indian? That's why you're mentioning these names. For the record I had access to American and British texts which were great for first time learning, but for exams I always used BDC. I used all three of them along with Netter's atlas and Gray's anatomy for students. Cunningham - Useful in the dissection hall. Too vast and wordy, you will be able to understand if you read a few paragraphs and take time to reflect on them.
Last's anatomy - The smallest book of anatomy I've ever seen, great for starting a topic because reading it doesn't feel like a barrier. It explains things well. Netter's and Gray's have great diagrams for times when reading text is not enough.
Otherwise, the student Gray's has many errors in the text. BDC - The reference text book for students in India. Best book for exams as the diagrams and text can be easily replicated in exams.
